I have a new Wonder Woman in my life: Joy! What makes Joy so amazing? She is Abigail's mommy! And who is Abigail, and why is she so special?
Abigail just made her entrance into the world. She arrived on August 29, a bit earlier than her "expected due date," but she sure took her time in getting here anyway. How is that possible if she was early? Well, she had her mom go through TWO days of labor!
Like I said, Joy is Wonder Woman! I am so proud of her (and husband Donny) for sticking it out and letting nature take its course. She stayed focused and calm and let Abigail come when she was ready. I haven't heard the whole story yet, but I am sure she was tired, exhausted, and wondering if Abigail was ever going to arrive. But, Joy was strong and simply amazing!
I get to go meet Miss Abigail this afternoon actually. I just got to see Little Sommer (who I blogged about before) last week, and she was so tiny. I think I forgot how tiny newborns are! Granted, Sommer was just over 7 pounds at birth. But she was so small and precious. I couldn't help but be giddy as I watched her sleep, bum up in the air. Made me want to hold my precious little one all the more, but I guess I will wait until December. Until then, I will just love on these students' babies! And so I go to meet Abigal later today. And I am more prepared for how tiny she will be. Even though she was over 9 pounds and almost 22 inches long when she was born! Have I mentioned that Joy is Wonder Woman? :)

I can hardly wait until I get to meet this precious baby and to congratulate her amazing mommy in person. I love my "job" of teaching childbirth classes and preparing moms and dads for the special day o
