Wait, isn't fall just around the corner? Yes, yes, it is. And I am so excited. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. The leaves change color, the temperatures are perfect for walks and bike rides, and we get to have some special celebrations in our family. This year will mark my 4th wedding anniversary and my daughter's 2nd birthday.
So why am I so thrilled that Sommer is here?! Because she is the baby of one of my Bradley® students! The first girl! Little Sommer arrived on August 17, a few days after her "due date." Sommer's parents had decided not to find out the gender of their baby beforehand, so it was doubly wonderful to hear about Sommer's birth. Now I knew the baby was a girl, and her name. I love it too...Sommer, perfect for the time of year that she was born. And she's precious in every way! I have two more students who are still waiting to meet their little ones. The next baby due to be born is also a girl, and I can't wait to meet her. And find out her name! Ah, helping others get ready to welcome their babies to the world has got to be the best job on earth (except maybe actually helping them during the delivery and labor process itself, which I would love to do as well!).

Another one of my students had her baby! Another little boy! And another home birth as well!
Laraine and her husband Anthony welcomed precious Bridger to the world on July 12. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 inches long. After a pretty long labor, the couple was delighted to finally meet their baby boy! I was so proud of Laraine. Her labor was long (over 2 days), but she stay focused and relaxed throughout the whole process. She did a fantastic job, and all that hard work was well worth the effort in the end. Little Bridger is quite the cutie! I hope to have Laraine and Bridger come to one of my classes. I would love for her to share Bridger's birth story with my next group of students, giving them advice and just being there to answer any questions these expecting couples may have. |
Sarah YoungWho am I? Well, I wear quite a few hats actually. I am a wife and mother, a daycare provider, a natural birth instructor, an athlete, a daughter, an aunt, a sister-in-law, a friend, and most importantly a lover of Christ. Archives
