I love to be outdoors! When I created this website, the template with the leaves and flower and little butterfly stuck out to me because it was the most "natural." Seeing as how I teach natural childbirth classes, I felt it was a good fit. Plus, I like to think in metaphors and can make a lot of connections between nature and pregnancy/babies.
A seed may be hidden down in the soil but it is furtively at work to grow and develop into a plant (whether that be a dandelion, a rosebush, or a towering oak tree), and slowly but surely the roots push their way deep into the dirt, a tiny sprout shoots up through the earth, a stem grows, then leaves uncurl, and finally the flower blossoms.
In the same way, a baby is nestled inside his mother's womb where he is intricately formed and knit together until all his internal organs, muscles, limbs, and even tiny fingernails are ready. Then, when the time is right, the baby pushes his way into the world and we behold this precious new child who has just made our lives all the more beautiful.
I am so excited to start teaching childbirth classes and help families prepare to welcome their precious babies to the world. Just as I planted seeds last spring and then waited expectantly for my garden to grow, I am looking forward to working with pregnant mamas (and dads) and getting to meet their "Little Sprouts" when the time comes. Like my flowers, these babies will add vibrancy and color and beauty to the lives of everyone they know.
