Our computer suddenly died in the middle of May, and I haven't had access to the internet at home since then. Finally, last night a good friend was able to fix our problem and reconnect me to the world-wide web!!! Now that I am "back in the saddle," I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do. Where to begin?
I am in the middle of my second series of childbirth classes and loving the opportunity to help these couples prepare for the birth of their babies. It's even more fun this time since I get to prepare for my own little one right along with them. I have learned so much myself as I explain the process of labor and delivery to my students. I feel even more ready for the day that "Baby Dos" will enter the world.
My husband and I are doing our best to get our daughter ready to be a big sister come December. But how much does an almost 2 year old really understand? If anyone has any tips or advice about how they prepared their older children to welcome their younger siblings to the family, I would be glad to learn from you. :)
One of my favorite things is when my daughter Coralyn comes up to me and lifts up my shirt and says "baby," then gives my belly a big kiss. She loves her little brother or sister already! What she doesn't realize (I don't think) is how her new sibling is going to change her entire world. For the better, of course (though it make take her a bit to appreciate that)!
Well, enough rambling. I need to get back to work. I hope to get some articles and websites listed so that you have access to some great resources as you prepare for the arrival of your little one. For now, I best "giddy up" and be productive while my daughter naps! :)
